The Board of Fire Commissioners consists of 3 citizens who are appointed by the Board of Trustees.   The Fire Commissioners are responsible for all sworn personnel matters.   Some of their key functions are to establish and oversee the hiring and promotional procedures for personnel, as well as disciplinary actions.

The Board of Fire Commissioners meets on the first Monday on the month on an "as-needed" basis, at the District Administration Board Room,  9790 W. 151st Street, Orland Park.   They are open to the public.
